Speaking opportunities at ADR conference in Mauritius
The International Division will be carrying out a market scoping visit to Mauritius between 24th - 27th February 2010 at the invitation of the Mauritius Law Society and led by Law Society president, Robert Heslett.
During the visit the Mauritius Law Society will be hosting a two-day Alternative Dispute Resolution seminar, a draft programme of which can be downloaded below. There are speaking opportunities available for solicitors accompanying the delegation focussing on arbitration and mediation and specifically:
- Experiences of Uncitral modelled arbitration
- Improvements to compulsory mediation enforcements
Mauritius has emerged as one of the strongest economies in sub-Saharan Africa and acts a gateway to the markets of Africa, Asia and the Middle East. A network of free trade agreements and double taxation treaties has significantly driven its economy in recent years. With its broad-based and resilient economy, the country is poised for further growth as it sets out to become a major business and financial hub in the region.
There will be a parallel programme of meetings and networking opportunities running alongside the seminar. Please contact alison.hook@lawsociety.org.uk or lucy.hicks@lawsociety.org.uk if you would be interested in joining the delegation and/or participation and speaking opportunities in the Alternative Dispute Resolution seminar.
