China’s lawyers head to Bristol to link up with local solicitors
Lawyers from Tianjin in China are to visit Bristol to strengthen links with the city’s legal community thanks to the Law Society of England & Wales’ Think China programme.
Alison Hook, head of the Law Society International Division, says: “China’s legal services market is open and provides opportunities for lawyers to work in a range of sectors. However, China is investing in Africa, Latin America and is strategically placed to develop links with Central Asian emerging economies. The inward visit is one part of an on-going programme to strengthen the Society’s and its members’ links with China, which is ever more important as China’s role grows in the global economy.”
The visit comes on the back of a China delegation visit earlier this year to Sheffield and comes ahead of a planned visit by Law Society to the Shanghai Expo 2010, which runs from May to October.
