Building international networks: English lawyers to visit Los Angeles, June 2008
A group of solicitors from England are planning a visit to Los Angeles this summer to learn more about the Californian legal market and establish contacts with the legal profession in the state.
California is a major economic partner for England and there is a great deal of legal traffic between the London and LA already which can be built on through more connections between the legal professions in each location.
The group, comprised of lawyers from both large law firms to sole practitioners, includes solicitors with expertise in:
- intellectual property
- technology
- financial services
- trade marks and patents
- life sciences
- corporate and commercial
- media
- employment
- sports
- taxation
- immigration
How your firm can take part
The visit is taking pace from June 16 - 18. Firms in the Los Angeles area interested in meeting with members of the group should contact Charlotte Ford at the Law Society: charlotte.ford@lawsociety.org.uk.
The visit is being organised by the Law Society of England and Wales' International Division. It follows from a similar visit last year. The Law Society is working the the State Bar of California and local bars on the programme.
