Inaugural event of the Omani British Lawyers Association
A new bilateral group, the Omani British Lawyers' Association (OBLA) will be holding their inaugural event on Monday 7 May, to be attended by the Law Society's vice-president Lucy Scott-Moncrieff who will be speaking on the role of the Law Society in a diverse society. The seminar in Muscat will be opened by the British Ambassador and will provide a forum for Omani and British lawyers in the region to share experiences and views.
OBLA was established in 2011 with the objectives to promote fellowship and good understanding between the legal professions in the United Kingdom and the Sultanate of Oman, to develop and strengthen legal, business and cultural links between lawyers and to support the role of lawyers and the rule of law.
OBLA will be organising a programme of professional and social events, including joint seminars and congresses, of United Kingdom and Omani lawyers on matters of common interest.
