The Anglo-Dutch Exchange 19-23 June 2012

This year, ADE will take place from 19-23 June 2012, where young lawyers from Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague will be hosting a group of 40 junior lawyers from England and Wales. All members of JLD are eligible including current and former LPC students, paralegals, trainee solicitors and solicitors up to 5 years PQE.

The purpose of ADE is to promote a greater knowledge of our legal and judicial systems, a better understanding of our commercial and cultural environments, and to establish closer links between the two jurisdictions. The theme of this year’s ADE will be 'Lieux de mémoire', or 'place of memory'.

Most importantly, there will be visits to the Dutch Supreme Court, one of the International Courts, the port of Rotterdam and various other sites of interest, as well as lectures hosted by some of the leading law firms in the Netherlands.

Dutch lawyers will provide accommodation for delegates in their own homes. This provides an ideal chance to get to know your hosts and makes the exchange cost friendly.

40 delegates places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, although priority will be given to those young lawyers who provided accommodation for visiting Dutch lawyers during ADE 2010. The cost of the exchange is € 200 per person, which includes staying with a host, all planned activities (including meals), excluding any travel (flight/train) expenses. Payment information will be supplied on receipt of the application.
