LAWASIA raises alarm at Malaysian Assembly Bill

LAWASIA, an umbrella organisation of bar associations with interests in the Asia-Pacific region, has expressed its concern at the Malaysian Peaceful Assembly Bill. The bill, which was tabled for first reading in the Malaysian Parliament on 22 November 2011, seeks to restrict assemblies and increase the power of the police.
