The Russian Federation is a federal semi-presidential republic. It is the 11th largest economy in the world. It comprises 85 ''subjects of the federation” grouped into seven federal districts which are administered by a Presidential appointee. Russia has a developing legal services market with Moscow at its centre.

The Law Society and the Federal Chamber of Advocates of the Russian Federation (RFCA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Moscow on 20 November 2013. This signalled a continuing friendship and intention to further collaborate and build relations between the two professions.
