The Law Society is planning a Latin America - UK legal services event in in Sao Paulo as part of the Lord Mayor's visit to Brazil in October. The event will bring together lawyers from around the region to discuss opportunities for UK investment in Latin America.

A new association for lawyers in Colombia and the UK was launched at the Law Society last night by Law Society president Linda Lee and Colombian Ambassador Mauricio Rodriguez.
EU agreement with Central America
The EU has initialled an agreement with six Central American countries which includes a comprehensive trade pillar. The agreement, with Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama now begins a formal process of ratification before it enters into force.
